Hands
by Bianca Brad
“Unica” tells you that you can
Have beautiful
And smooth hands
If you listen closely
To our advice!
The hands, as well as
the face and the legs are considered to play an important part when
it comes to beauty. The hands are our business cards. They betray our
mood, health, even profession, and if we don’t take care of them,
the age. A perfect makeup and outfit are in vain if the hands are
neglected. In fact people pay more attention to hands than to legs,
and yet not the attention they deserve! The hands are the most
important “instruments” which help us solve a lot of issues and
to express ourselves in our relationships with those around us, and
we expose them to the cold, heat, sun, wind and all sorts of
chemicals. In the long run, this makes them harsh, dry, with
breakable, stained and thickened fingernails. As compared to the
face, the hand skin is thinner, with less fat to camouflage wrinkles
and veins, and only a few glands and follicles to provide moisture
and generate “new” skin. All these accelerate ageing, but with
the necessary care and a little more attention, the positive outcomes
will not be to our benefit alone… What’s to be done?
Keep hand cream tubes
at hand – in the bathroom, in the bedroom, in the car, and use hand
cream whenever you have the chance.
For an emollient,
smoothing effect, add ½ teaspoon of sugar in the quantity of
cream you are about to use.
Again sugar, this time
mixed with a few drops of lemon juice, will be applied for a few
minutes on nicotine stains or harsh areas.
Ideally you should use
a sunscreen cream in order to postpone the stains.
Whenever using hand
cream give your hands a mini-massage for the fingers, nails, wrists
and the spaces between the fingers (the massage maintains the hands
supple and prevents arthritis).
In case of swollen,
aching hands, soak them in salty water for 15-20 minutes daily for
two weeks.
You can use olive oil
instead of cream (preferably warm) or vitamin E.
If you have sweaty
hands, wash them with a mixture of water (3) and apple vinegar (1).
In case of very dry and
exhausted hands apply daily a mixture of honey (one teaspoon), 20 g.
glycerin and ½ l warm water. This mixture can be kept in an
airtight bottle and can be used over a longer period of time.
Also, you can mix 2
tablespoons of wheat bran with 6 tablespoons of sour milk.
Used regularly, the
following treatments have an emollient effect and prevent the dryness
of the hands and even though they are a little more complicated to
apply, they’re worth it!
Potatoes mask
Boil 2 to 4 potatoes
(very soft), peel and mash. Add 2 tablespoons of milk.
Avocado mask
Mash one avocado and
mix with an egg white and a little lemon juice.
Instructions
to use for both recipes: Apply the mixture on hands and arms,
then wrap hands and arms in cling film and then in a towel. Leave for
10-20 minutes, then clean with a piece of cloth. Finally, apply an
emollient cream.
